How many bottles do I need? Send two 6, 8, or 12 oz bottles OR one 22oz, or one 750 ml bottle for each entry competing. |
Any limits on the number of entries? None, you may enter as many meads as you wish. |
What are the entry fees? $6 |
Types of payment? Check made payable to Brew Free or Die, and included with your entries (place in envelope, and attach to a bottle with rubber band) or payment can be sent via paypal |
When are the entry deadlines? Entries must be received at designated site by 5:00 PM on 04/16/2010. Late entries will neither be judged nor returned. |
How do I enter? U.S. and International Entries(a) Register each entry online by going to http://www.meadfreeordie.com/entrantreg.php, creating a login, and entering the information about your entries. (b) Pay for your entries. Pay online for entries when you are sure of the entries you are sending to the competition. If you are paying by check or money order, make it out to the Brew Free or Die , and in the memo field write the number of entries the check or money order covers and the names of the entrants if it is not the same as the name on the check. (c) Print the labels for your entries. Attach the labels to each bottle using a rubber band; do not attach the bottle label with glue or tape. Your entry will be disqualified if you use glue or tape to secure the label to the bottle. (d) Pack your bottles carefully. (e) Drop Off or Ship your entries to appropriate address given on the www.meadfreeordie.com/dropoff.php Packages with postage due or C.O.D. charges will be returned to sender. DO NOT SHIP YOUR ENTRIES VIA THE U.S. POSTAL SERVICE. |
Are there entry limitations? (a) Your mead cannot have been brewed on equipment used to produce beverages for any commercial purpose, whether for commercial research, production or any other purpose, including equipment at brew-on-premises establishments. (b) You must give the names of all brewers who helped in the brewing. (c) Judges may not judge a category they have entered, and stewards may not steward a category they have entered. |
| Club of the Year: |
Points earned towards Club of the Year are calculated as follows: 5 points for Best of Show, 3 points for a 1st, 2 points for 2nd, and 1 point for a 3rd from each of the subcategories, will be totaled per club. This prize must be picked up in Winchester NH. |

| What happens if I win? |
All BJCP scoresheets will be mailed back to entrants, additionally if you happen to win your prizes will be shipped as well, except for Club of the Year. |

Awards (1) First-, second- and third-place winners in each subcategory will receive a medal (lazer engraved wood carving). (2) First-, second- and third-place winners in each category will receive a prize package. (3) First-place winning entries in each of the subcategory will compete in a best-of-show judging. The winner will be awarded Best of Show. (4) At the discretion of competition organizers and/or judges, awards may not be given if the quality of an entry is deemed undeserving of an award. Mead Free or Die -- Club of the Year, the great folks at Black Cat Honey, have donated 660lbs, which is a 55 gallon drum, of summer Wild Flower Honey.
